On 26 March, the annual general meeting of the Association of Latvian Lutheran Women Theologians (LLSTA) took place. As part of it, a change to the statutes was decided — the association’s board now has 5 members instead of the previous 3. Jāna Jēruma-Grīnberga, Ieva Zeiferte, Elīza Zikmane, Dace Balode, and Kristīne Vanaga have been elected as board members for the next 3 years. We warmly congratulate the new board composition and look forward to a blessed period of work ahead!
At the general meeting, various LLSTA projects were discussed, both those already begun and those still only planned, including:
- A social support project for women theologians in Latvia
- The organization of an international conference
- A scholarship programme on questions of gender equality
- The “25 Years of History” project for compiling historical documents on LLSTA’s activities
- A pilot study, “The Darkest Moment Is Just Before Sunrise”, on the role and history of women in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia
