Prof. Dace Balode was ordained by the Archbishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia Abroad (ELCLA), Lauma Zušēvica.
The ordination worship service took place in Riga, at the Anglican Church of the Holy Saviour, and it was attended by the leadership of the ELCLA, as well as several pastors, both men and women, who have served in the ELCLA from all over the world and who had come to Latvia for the plenary session of the ELCLA General Council.
On 29 June, the closing worship service of the plenary session of the ELCLA General Council took place in Riga, at which Dr. Dace Balode was ordained to the office of pastor.

Dean-elect Zilgme Eglīte (head of the Latvian Ev. Luth. Church in Sweden),
Dean Kārlis Žols (head in Latvia of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia Abroad),
pastor loci Rev. Jāna Jēruma-Grīnberga (bishop emeritus of the Lutheran Church in Great Britain).
