A graduate of the University of Latvia Faculty of Theology ordained as a pastor in Germany.
On 22 February 2015, Kirsten Fehrs, Bishop of Hamburg and Lübeck, ordained six new clergy into office – four women pastors and two men pastors. In a solemn service at the Holy Trinity Church in Hamburg-Altona, they made a vow to serve in the office of pastor in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the confessions of faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
At the ordination service they were granted the pastoral rights: to preach the Word of God, to administer the Sacraments, and to keep the secret of confession. After theological studies and two and a half years of practical training in parish work (the vicariate), the new pastors now begin their independent ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany.
Among those ordained at the service was also Zanda Ofa (Ohff), a graduate of the University of Latvia Faculty of Theology. She serves the Luther congregation of Wellingsbüttel in Hamburg, Germany.
