In a letter to the provosts dated 29 February 1968, informing them about the Synod of 23 March 1968, Archbishop G. Tūrs notes that the question of women’s ordination ought to be discussed at the district Synods, justifying this by the shortage of pastors and the relevant experience of the churches of Sweden, Finland, and part of Germany.
