Dr. theol. Dace Balode receives the UL “Researcher of the Month” award

14. Oct, 2018

In September this year, the dean of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Latvia, professor and pastor Dace Balode, received the University of Latvia’s Science Communication award “Researcher of the Month”. As written on the UL website: “The award in this category has been introduced in order to foster public understanding of science and the work of researchers, as well as to honour talented scientists.” The award is being presented for the sixth year in a row.

Doctor of Theology, professor Dace Balode is also a board member of the Latvian Lutheran Association of Women Theologians, which defends the rights of women in the church and in society, and advocates for academic independence at the UL Faculty of Theology.

As is known, in June 2018 the collective scholarly monograph “Women on the Path of the Reformation” was published, one of the authors and originators of the idea of which was professor Dace Balode.

LLSTA is truly glad about professor Balode’s high achievements and wishes Dace Balode blessing and success in the future as well!
