Today, Captain Estere Tumoviča took office as Head Chaplain of the Latvian Armed Forces, replacing the previous Head Chaplain, Elmārs Pļaviņš.
Captain E. Tumoviča began her service in 2018, starting her studies at the National Defence Academy of Latvia in the Basic Officer Specialist Course. She continued her service as a chaplain in the Military Police. Estere Tumoviča is also a graduate of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Latvia.
E. Pļaviņš held the office of Head Chaplain of the Latvian Armed Forces from 2006 and will continue his service in the post of senior expert on international military-religious cooperation in the direct support group of the Latvian Armed Forces command.
