On 2 April of this year, the theologian Aija Zvirbule (15.10.1959.- 02.04.2021.) passed away.
Aija Zvirbule studied acting at the Moscow Film Institute, but later turned to spiritual matters and studied theology at the Latvian Theological Seminary.
In the course of her theological studies, Aija once even traveled to Bashkiria to visit the Latvians living there. In 1992, Aija Zvirbule served in the Straupe congregation in Latvia.
The Latvian Association of Lutheran Women Theologians extends its deepest condolences to the loved ones of Aija Zvirbule.
