On Saturday, 12 August, Lutheran women from all over the world will gather in Wittenberg to celebrate FrauenFestTag, or Women’s Celebration Day.
The motto of the event is genuinely Lutheran: “HERE WE STAND!” The motto is set out and explained in the following broader declarative statement:
The central event will be a photo session titled “Here We Stand 500+”, for which more than 500 ordained women from various countries of the world will gather.
From Latvia, the evangelists Rudīte Losāne and Agnese Kapče, as well as the first Latvian Lutheran woman bishop, Jāna Jēruma-Grīnberga, will take part in this notable event.
