The film “Oscillations” nominated for the Lielais Kristaps award!

We are delighted that the documentary film about Latvian Lutheran women pastors, “Oscillations” (directed by Kristīne Briede, project manager at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Latvia), has received four nominations for the national film award “Lielais Kristaps” – Best Feature-Length Documentary Film, Best Documentary Film Director, Best Documentary Film Cinematographer, and Best Composer.

Thank you to the film’s team – Kristīne Briede, Jānis Šēnbergs, Andris Grants, Krišs Roziņš, Iikka Vehkalahti, Artis Lūsis, Sniedze Prauliņa, Antra Gaile, Ieva Ūbele, and everyone else who was involved in making the film!

The Latvian premiere of the film is planned for the time of “Lielais Kristaps” at the end of February 2023.

The documentary film is about Latvian Lutheran women theologians and their restricted opportunities to serve in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. The film is about the calling and lives of these various women under conditions of restricted opportunity, without losing their faith!
