On 30 June of this year, representatives of the Latvian Lutheran Women Theologians’ Association (LLSTA) met in Tallinn with the archbishop of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Urmas Viilma).

Urmas Viilma is the vice-president of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) for Central and Eastern Europe. The LLSTA wished to get acquainted with the LWF vice-president, as well as to discuss possibilities for cooperation between the LLSTA and the LWF in the region.

The LLSTA is the only organization that translates and publishes LWF documents on the website www.sieviesuordinacija.lv

On the evening of the same day, the LLSTA representatives met with the women pastors of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. As is known, in the Estonian church women’s ordination has existed for a long time. In 2017 the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church marked the 50th anniversary of women’s ordination.
